The World IP Day is celebrated each year on April 26th. This event coincides with the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) entered into force in 1970. World IP Day aims to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of economies and societies across the globe.

This year, the theme chosen by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) was "Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity". Indeed, women have been shaping the world with their ingenuity and creativity, for generations. They have been driving scientific breakthroughs, setting new creative trends, building businesses and transforming the world.

World Intellectual Property Day 2023 is an opportunity to celebrate all talented women around the world. In this context, the MRIC Technology Transfer Office sought through the organisation of this seminar, to act as a platform where women entrepreneurs will be able to share their experiences, the difficulties they faced and overcame during their entrepreneurial journey and the components of IP in their business.
