The aim of the PCS is to assist innovators in advancing their research outputs and ideas with a view to developing prototypes, establishing proof of concept and validating business cases.

The Proof of Concept Scheme supports:

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or
Large Enterprises;
Start-Up companies;
State-owned companies
Associations, including NGOs, NPOs registered with the Registrar of Associations
Cooperatives registered with the Registrar of Cooperative Society, and
Research/Higher Education Institutions in collaboration with companies

All the eligible entities must be already existing legal entities registered in the Republic of Mauritius;
Start-up, MSMEs and Large Companies must be registered with the Registrar of Companies.
An applicant may collaborate with:
- other local or overseas enterprises, companies or institutions;
- secondary and tertiary/higher education institutions (public or private) and polytechnics, that are registered and officially accredited with the relevant authorities;
- Non-Governmental Organisations.

Project proposals will be accepted in areas where opportunities exist to develop innovative technology-based ideas for either new or improved industry-oriented products, processes or services that will enhance socio-economic benefits.
